A White Panther is therfore a white or very pale variant of leopard, cougar or jaguar. So a Panther in Africa is generally a black Leopard, in South America a Panther is a black Jaguar, in North America a panther is a black Cougar or Mountain lion (though trying to find a good photo of a North American Panther is tough).
