CANADIAN LYNX
Colorado’s Canada Lynx reintroduction programs is a success!
Excerpt: In 1997, the Colorado Division of Wildlife undertook what was to become one of North America’s most high-profile carnivore reintroductions to date. The goal of DOW’s lynx reintroduction program was to establish a self-sustaining lynx population within Colorado, where biologists felt quality lynx habitat still existed. The observations and lessons from this program – the latest in a long line of successful DOW reintroductions – may be helpful in planning future carnivore reintroductions such as wolverines in Colorado and elsewhere.

I was lucky to see a Canadian Lynx in Northern New Hampshire several years ago. It was sitting in the road when we came around a corner. We stopped and it slowly got up and ambled off. Absolutely gorgeous animal. I like how the fur on their legs always makes them look like they are wearing rumpled pajamas. :)
