PATAGONIAN CAVY - ©seeit-snapit
The Patagonian Cavy, a relative of the Guinea Pig, is perhaps one of the most interesting of rodent species. With its long hare-like ears and long legs, it strongly resembles the fabled jack-a-lope. The long rear legs help the Patagonian Cavy run rapidly. It has been clocked at 18 mph and can hop as high as 6 1/2 feet.
